What kind of clients do you resonate with most?

I love working with folks who understand that one’s emotional and mental well-being plays out in the physical body but maybe haven’t yet discovered practices that unlock that connection. My favorite clients are committed to their search for healing and wholeness, finding magic in the interdependence of all elements of self and world.

What are your own self-care practices and advice?

Meditation, energy healing, TRE, embodied dance, and self-inquiry. My self-care changes regularly, so my #1 piece of advice is to allow your practices to evolve with you. As parts of you heal, your self-care will likely need to shift so the next layer of healing can occur. What works for one person may not work for another. So listen to your body, trust your intuition, and follow practices that return you to yourself.

What inspired you to become a personal trainer?

I was inspired to become a trainer through my own fitness journey. After having my daughter I healed myself of postpartum depression naturally, through exercise and thought to myself that I’m certainly not the only woman who’s dealt with this. So I wanted to help other women. As a black woman I feel my mission is also to help and develop my community by getting More African Americans to live a healthier lifestyle.

What type of client do you most love working with?

Clients who know they can completely trust me to do what’s right in order for them to improve their health and fitness. Clients that are willing to learn and express if there is something they do not like. Clients that want to build a relationship and make fitness long term.

What is your favorite thing about being a trainer?

That I can inspire movement and self-love in others and myself.

What is your biggest personal motivation in maintaining or improving your own health?

Life is difficult. Taking care of my body and mind is a radical assertion of my right to exist and be heard.

What type of client do you most love working with?

I am passionate about helping people rediscover and reclaim empowerment in their bodies. I especially love helping those who have body-image issues, trauma, or other emotional health concerns find grounding in movement and strength.

What is your favorite thing about being a trainer?

Seeing my clients’ excitement, joy and discovery every single day as they uncover the miracle that is their body.

Why do you train with Comfy Fitness?

I created Comfy Fitness out of a desire to make fitness accessible and doable for anyone who wants a piece of it. I love that 'fit' at Comfy looks all kinds of ways and has nothing to do with what you look like when you're naked.

What type of client do you most love working with?

i love working with anyone who has become stuck in their body (pain, fatigue, malaise, inactive muscles) and is looking for freedom. Nothing quite inspires my work like getting someone out of pain or discomfort.

What inspired you to become a personal trainer?

Working as a physical therapy tech, I realized how much I love helping and watching others become healthy and strong. The confidence and happiness people exude when they feel better is the most amazing thing to witness and be a part of.

What is your biggest personal motivation in maintaining or improving your own health?

I am working to maintain my health because I don't want to become another statistic for injury or illness. I love being strong, healthy and happy, it helps me get through all the good and bad times.

What inspired you to become a personal trainer?

I was inspired by the strong women in my community, and the discovery that being strong and in balance can be taught and learned. I love to educate about the benefits of fitness and how to get to a fit place in your life.

Why do you train with Comfy Fitness?

I train here because the community is so rich and fulfilling. I am supported, I have a voice and I love the clients that are drawn to our ethos.

What is type of client do you most love working with?

My favorite type of client is one that gets excited about learning how exercise benefits them through experience, and continues working out long after they stop seeing me.
