Essential Somatic Movement
Clinical Essential Somatics is a gentle movement practice which addresses chronic pain and muscular imbalance at the level of the nervous system. Muscles don't move unless your nervous system sends a signal for them to do so. Your habits, injuries, and response to life create nervous system patterns that, while originally meant to keep you safe, over time cause tightness, discomfort, and pain.
Somatic Movement teaches methods for deeply sensing yourself from within. Then through slow movements, called pandiculations, it releases muscles and re-educates the body back into effortless, expressive, and natural movement.
TRE: Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises
TRE is an at-home self-care practice designed to release deep muscular tension, chronic stress, and many forms of trauma. It is taught in 15 countries to bring relief to veterans, trauma survivors, and the everyday person.
Through a series of exercises, you’ll access neuromuscular tremors - your body's natural way of discharging excess tension that stores in your system after any fight/flight/freeze interaction. Overtime, reactions to stress affect the resting condition of your body, creating chronic tension, anxiety, pain, or discomfort. A regular TRE practice works to maintain a healthy state of homeostasis. It's easy to learn and then execute on your own so you have a go-to method for stress relief.
